This is a photo of me doing a really fun theatre workshop in Riding Mountain National Park:
Producing | Production | Event Planning
I have worked on a multitude of types of events, including but not limited to:
Several successful festival and non-festival independent theatre productions
Several professional theatre productions, as well as dance and film events
Indoor and outdoor music events of all sizes, including full symphony orchestra concerts, small / chamber classical ensemble concerts, and live popular music concerts, along with contracting and hiring for musical theatre pit orchestras (local / touring)
Three seasons of the Winnipeg New Music Festival
Special events including the Magnetic North Theatre Festival & the Canadian Premiere’s Summit
Weddings (these are honestly the hardest, tbh)
My experience includes: advancing / planning, contract negotiation, union relations, troubleshooting, working with venues of all sizes and types, day-of, event promotion, health / safety / security, scheduling, volunteer recruitment and supervision, general coordination, driving, running, artist management, front-of-house, and working with VIP’s, among other things!
I have successfully contributed to successful grant applications ranging from $100 - $100,000 and am familiar with the application processes for the Winnipeg Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, Canadian Heritage, as well as various foundations. I actually really like writing grants.
Teaching and Workshops
In addition to my artistic training, I am also a certified teacher (Bachelor of Education). I’ve taught kindergarteners to adults in academic and recreational settings. Whether it is a short workshop or extended series of classes, I would love to help facilitate engaging and educational drama, theatre, and arts experiences for your peeps.
I’ve sat on audition panels for a variety of independent and professional companies and have lots of experience 'in the room'. I can offer a variety of tips and tricks to take your audition to the next level. Here’s one for free: ALWAYS SAVE YOUR RESUME AS A PDF AND INCLUDE YOUR NAME IN THE DOCUMENT TITLE!
